Next to the Pink Flamingo

we walk this beach
collect broken shells
shattered by surf
and storms

scattered by
sculptors of sand
of time share condos
and all inclusive beach
front weddings
scratching

I Love You
in the sand

the red sun
sinking
reveals
a madonna
mosaic with child
of cockles
and cones left
on this sand
a sign

a shrine
for third world
converts
praying
dancing
celebrating
as ten thousand angels
sing his name

at low tide
old men play
dominoes next
to the pink flamingo
as CNN prepares
the nightly news

I reckon you must have had a very significant experience in this setting, the beach and that kind of blankness of the harsh sun, i remember a poem you posted long ago where you transmogrified into a lizard, that was you I think my mind is old and feeble and memory indistinct, but as i say you do this scene so well, variations permutations brilliant, it is becoming like three d.

What a vivid picture you painted. For the length of that poem I felt transported.
